Trucking outlook remains positive for the future

The trucking industry faces a bright future.

There are many things that can affect the sustainability of the trucking industry. The price of gas, consumer confidence or the state of the economy can change the need for bulk delivery. However, the latest reports are predicting a bright trucking forecast.

A recent article from Fleet Owner Magazine recapped a presentation given at the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialog conference by Bob Dieli, president and founder of RDLB Inc., an economic research and consulting firm. The biggest takeaway from his speech is that the economic activity that has been seen in the trucking industry will continue to experience sustained growth through the rest of 2014.

Despite calling the overall outcome "surprising," Dieli said that the risks of recession is quite low for the immediate future. Strong import/export numbers, which account for 25 percent of all truckable activity, are the first pillar for sustained success.

The second is continued income and employment growth, which affects consumer activity. This field accounts for 45 percent of trucking economic activity.

"Also auguring in favor of continued growth for trucking are the new federal budget agreement and new leadership at the Federal Reserve, both of which argue against any unsettling changes in fiscal or monetary policy," the article reads.

For any business that needs to rely on trucking services, this is good news as changes in these industries must be hit head on. With the help of a third party logistics, warehousing and trucking provider, any company can rest easy knowing these solutions are taken care of in the most effective way.
